NASA M113 Crew Evacuation Vehicle 1:35 Scale

This brightly coloured version of the old M113 was used up until very recently to evacuate the crew of the Space Shuttle in the case of an emergency on the launch pad. If an emergency arose, the crew would use one of a number of long flying fox lines to clear the launch tower, where they would find themselves in a bunker where this vehicle would be waiting. All Space Shuttle crews were trained to drive it, so the first one down could jump into the driver's seat and await the arrival of the rest of their crew before driving to safety. The model comes fitted into a display case with a polished timber base with a plaque.
