P-38L-5-L0 Lightning 1:72 - Hobbyboss
The P-38 Lightning was developed as a long range escort fighter and was developed into a range of aircraft used as fighters, light bombers, ground attack and recon. The story goes that is was initially drawn up on the back of an envelope on a train by a young aeronautical engineer, Kelly Johnson, going home from work. He would go on to become one of the greatest aircraft designers in history and would go on to design planes such as the SR-71 Blackbird and other famous US fighters and "Black" aircraft. A nice little 1:72 scale kit of this famous aircraft.
